Our team of professionals is committed to excellence in patient care, and we are seeking a dedicated individual to lead our pathology collectors.Position Summary:The Pathology Collector is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of pathology collection, including specimen collection and quality control. This role requires strong organisational skills and expertise in pathology to ensure efficient and accurate diagnostic processes.Key Responsibilities:Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results. Conduct regular audits and address any issues or discrepancies.Patient Care: Oversee patient interactions to ensure high standards of care. Address patient concerns and feedback to enhance the overall patient experience.Specimen Management: Ensure proper handling, labelling, and transportation of specimens. Maintain chain of custody and proper documentation.Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to all safety and infection control procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with universal precautions.Collaboration: Work closely with the Lead Pathologist, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and improve departmental efficiency.Reporting and Documentation: Ensure accurate record-keeping and confidentiality.Training and Development: Lead ongoing training and professional development initiatives for the pathology team.
