About Pathology Collection Department Austin Health Pathology provides services to Austin Health and the co-located Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg, as well as to numerous GPs and specialists in the metropolitan and regional community.
We are committed to providing high-quality patient care through routine and complex diagnostic services, expert advice, and support for teaching and research.
About the role As a Pathology Collector, you will ensure the highest level of service at all times to our patients and clients, in both the hospital and outpatient settings.
You will ensure specimen integrity is maintained, and patient care is at the centre of everything you do.
A regular day will see you:
Collect samples (blood and non-blood) with care and attentionMaintain meticulous records for every patient and samplePrepare and package specimens for transport and testingAbout you You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy or a Certificate III in Pathology Collection, Diploma of Nursing, or relevant experienceFlexible availability required, with the ability to work weekendsHigh level of customer service, communication, and empathy towards patients and clientsStrong time management, interpersonal, and organisational skillsConfidence and ability to work autonomously and within a small teamWorking at Austin Health means enjoying a strong sense of purpose, engaging in meaningful work every day.
