About the Role You will manage the budget process and financial performance of the Pathology service in association with the Operations Manager and Medical Director of Pathology. This includes overseeing annual budgets, business plans, tender submissions, and commercial contracts.
You will manage the financial operations of Pathology, including overseeing the billing/debtors team and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of revenue data for Medicare, interhospital, clinical trial, and research billing.
You will develop and maintain robust financial systems and processes that provide reliable financial performance data and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, accounting practices, and St Vincent's policies.
You will take a lead role in the development of the St Vincent's Pathology budget, set financial targets, and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor departmental performance. You will also advise on remedial actions in the event of budget variances.
Development of Tender Documents, Business Cases and MFD's as required to obtain support from SVHM / SVHA executive for relevant projects.
Classifications for this grade 4 position will range from HS4 - HS29: $120,000.00 per annum, inclusive of overaward payment (Negotiable, depending on experience)
Your Contribution Relevant qualification in business or accounting
Experience and knowledge of public health funding and pathology billing
Ability to initiate and maintain stakeholder relationships to advance clinical, business and strategic goals
Demonstrated ability to perform business analytics and prepare concise reports
Significant strategic business and financial acumen with demonstrated ability to produce, review and update cost effective budgets and re-forecasts with full rationale
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About Pathology
St. Vincent's Pathology is a fully accredited NATA/RCPA registered facility with laboratories located across Melbourne, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week providing diagnostic testing to both inpatients of St Vincent's Public Hospital Fitzroy and St Vincent's Private Hospital located in Fitzroy, East Melbourne and Kew, as well as servicing privately referred patients in up to 65 Pathology Collection Centres located across Metropolitan Melbourne. St Vincent's Pathology is a member of a multidisciplinary health care team which delivers care in a client focused manner.
