Sacca's is a fast growing family business and is well known for our fresh produce and great service to the community. We have expanded our business featuring Cafés, expresso bar, occasional cakes, mini cakes, biscuits, and gelati.
We have an exciting leadership opportunity to join our pastry production team. We are searching for an experienced Pastry Sous Chef to work with our Head Pastry Chef to develop our already established production menu. We service five Cafes internally and have a large retail selection of patisserie products.
As Pastry Sous Chef, you'll play a key role in supporting the Pastry Head Chef with the day-to-day operations of the patisserie kitchen. You will oversee pastry production, and ensure consistency in quality and presentation. Your leadership and training skills will help develop the team, while your creativity and passion for pastry will contribute to an innovative and exceptional guest experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Pastry Head Chef in overseeing daily operations and maintaining high standards in the patisserie kitchen Contribute to the creation and development of a diverse, innovative pastry production products aligned with Sacca's Fine Foods overall concept Ensure consistent production of pastries, desserts, and baked goods, maintaining quality and presentation standards Collaborate with the management team to enhance the guest experience and maintain high customer satisfaction Uphold health and safety regulations, ensuring all staff comply with hygiene and food handling practices Stay informed on industry trends, new culinary concepts, and competitors' offerings to keep the patisserie competitive and innovative Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-paced production environment Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage staff and interact with guests and suppliers Understanding of production procedures and solid knowledge of health and safety regulations and ability to ensure compliance Passion for pastry and a keen interest in staying updated with culinary trends Availability to work flexible hours, including early or late mornings, weekends, and holidays Have worked for at least two years as a Senior Pastry Chef or Chef De Partie. (Applicants who have worked in a production kitchen will be prioritized) Passionate about customer experience and product quality Ability to deal with the repetitive nature of a high-volume, fast-paced production kitchen and maintain the highest quality and service standards If you have the right to work in Australia and pose the above attributes, we would like to hear from you
