In partnership with a very successful restaurant group in Australia that boasts multiple chefs hats in their restaurants, we are on the lookout for an exceptional Pastry Chef de Partie for a busy venue in Melbourne.This role is not just about joining a popular restaurant; it's about becoming a part of a culinary team that sets benchmarks in the industry.The establishment, renowned for its dedication to excellence, serves approximately 65 plated desserts each evening at a 1 hat level, highlighting the need for precision, innovation, and quality in every creation.Your Contribution:Execution and Production: Work within the pastry team to produce an array of pastry cakes and desserts, adhering to contemporary trends and classic techniques.
This role requires a significant level of skill and creativity, with a focus on executing the menu designed by senior culinary leadership.Maintaining High Standards: Assist in maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation in all pastry and dessert offerings.
Your contributions will be vital to upholding the venue's reputation for excellence.Support and Supervision: Provide support and supervision to junior pastry chefs, playing a key role in their development by sharing knowledge and ensuring adherence to the restaurant's best practices.Inventory and Procurement Assistance: Assist in managing inventory and the procurement process, contributing to the selection of high-quality ingredients with an emphasis on sustainability and ethical sourcing.Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with the culinary team, ensuring that pastry and dessert operations are seamlessly integrated into the overall dining experience.What We Are Looking For:Experience and Skill: A proven track record as a Pastry Chef in fine dining, high-end restaurants, cake shops, technical chocolate production, or 5-star hotels.At least: 5 years of experience and 3 at the CDP level, with good volume experience, reflecting the ability to manage the production demands of this busy venue.Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing sophisticated desserts and pastries, demonstrating skill, creativity, and an understanding of current culinary trends.Qualifications: A culinary arts qualification with a specialization in pastry is preferred.Language: A good level of English and the ability to pass the required English test for visa purposes.What You Will Gain:Competitive Salary: An annual salary of AUD 70,000, with sponsorship and relocation assistance available for the right candidate.Prestigious Environment: The chance to work within an award-winning establishment in Melbourne, recognized for its commitment to quality.Professional Growth: A supportive environment that fosters growth, innovation, and collaboration, with ample opportunities for career development within a dynamic culinary team.
