Company DescriptionWinner of the Australian Hotels Association SA 2023 Deluxe Hotel Accommodation and 2022 Restaurant Accommodation Division Awards, positioned in the heart of Adelaide, just footsteps from the River Torrens and Light Square, the Sofitel Adelaide is surrounded by the city's historic treasures and contemporary icon, linking Adelaide's modern joie de vivre with classic French Bordelais art de vivre to articulate an enriched experience of captivating refinement.We are "relentlessly guest obsessed" in everything we do, and work to deliver the very best culinary and service experience for our discerning clientele.Job DescriptionWhat you will be doing:Working as part of the kitchen team this position involves food preparation and presentation with flair for pastries, desserts & baked goods. Organise and operate an assigned section of and ensure it runs efficiently and productively.Ensuring food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques meet Sofitel Brand Standard and are maintained at that level.Decorate and garnish pastries, gateauxs, cakes to brand standards with finesse.Prepare tempered chocolate items and petits fours to brand standards.Prepare and serve high-tea items, yeasted products and plated desserts.Monitor the quality of dishes and mise en plus at all stages of preparation and presentation.Monitor food preparation and wastage cost control.Cultivate a positive work environment where learning and personal development are benchmarks by which quality improvement is driven.Strive to implement the Accor Vision and demonstrate active use of Accor Values and Heartist principles.QualificationsYour experience and skills include:Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.The ability and willingness to work collaboratively with a diverse team.A strong passion to cook high quality food.Organisation, mise en place for a successful service.Great attention to details.Certificate in Commercial Cookery Level 4 or above, Certificate 3 in Patisserie or equivalent.Hotel experience, French culinary training and fine dining experience are an asset.Additional InformationYour team and working environment:Be part of Sofitel Adelaide's growing team with the opportunity to build your skills and expertise to reach the best version of YOU.At the Sofitel Adelaide, you will take your embrace your GRIT as your chosen superpower.
