Magdalene Catholic College is a systemic co-educational high school in the Macarthur region within the Diocese of Wollongong. Established to support the communities around Camden, Picton, Narellan, and the Oaks, the College is now in its 26th year of operation. The College has 1160 students from Years 7-12. The College provides a learning environment that places students at the centre, fostering holistic growth through high expectations, quality relationships, and academic success for all. The College Motto: Quia Dominum Vidi ("Because I have seen the Lord") is inspired by the College's Patron Saint, Mary Magdalene, who, as the first witness to the resurrection, gave strength to the Disciples.
A permanent full-time 2pt (3pt time) position commencing 31 January 2025. As a senior member of the College Pastoral Team, the successful applicant will lead a professional team to support and meet the pastoral and well-being needs of the school community, with a particular focus on supporting the Stage 4 Year Coordinators, pastoral team, and students.
This role supports the Principal in implementing the vision and mission of the school, fostering growth in faith and improvement in learning for students, and assisting the school leadership team in the conduct and organisation of the school. The successful applicant will work closely with the College Pastoral Care Coordinator and support the Year 7 and 8 Year Coordinators.

A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.A commitment to promoting and embedding the school's values in pastoral programs and practices.A strong understanding of contemporary approaches to student well-being and management.The demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and work collaboratively with staff.The demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive, innovative approach to support students with challenging behaviours.The demonstrated ability to build a positive learning culture of high expectations for all with an emphasis on differentiated learning to meet the holistic needs of all students.The ability to use data to discern the individual needs of students and source appropriate support.GENERAL CAPABILITIESThe following general capabilities are applicable to the role:
Well-developed interpersonal skills.Well-developed oral and written communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Strong administrative and organisational skills.QUALIFICATIONSAppropriate qualifications for teaching.Appropriate additional qualifications or experience in a relevant area.Level C Accreditation aligned with the 'Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong' policy or a commitment to gain this within the first contractual period.NESA Accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above.WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCEThis role is classified as child-related work, and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.
