HammondCare provides care primarily through hospitals, residential care homes and home-based care as well as services for dementia support, community palliative care, rehabilitation, positive ageing and older persons' mental health.About the roleThis role provides pastoral care, leadership and support to clients, their families, team members and pastoral care volunteers.The Pastoral Care Coordinator supports clients by visiting them in their own homes across the South Coast (Batemans Bay & Merimbula regions). The role requires access to a car (mileage reimbursed) and is permanent part-time working 3 days per week (22.8 hours pw) preferably Tuesday & Wednesday with flexibility on the third day.ResponsibilitiesAssessing client/family's spiritual and emotional needs and developing a spiritual care plan, to ensure their spiritual needs are acknowledged and documentedProviding spiritual and emotional support to clients and their familiesLiaising with relevant religious/spiritual leaders to coordinate provision of spiritual support to clients and their families where appropriateProviding prayerful spiritual/emotional support to team members, and distribute relevant material, articles and books as appropriateTraining team member in areas related to pastoral care, including boundaries, grief and loss, faith and hope, and other areas as identified in conjunction with key stakeholdersWorking with team members to extend their skills in meeting the spiritual needs of clients, including identifying suitable learning and development resources.Participating in opportunities such as staff meetings, in-services, expos, and other events with the purpose of providing information about pastoral care opportunities and creating partnerships.Regularly meeting with local service managers and team members for the purpose of receiving feedback, identifying need, and reporting back on any changes or developments in the Pastoral Care service.About youCommitment to engage and align with HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.Strong understanding and experience of people living at home with life-limiting illness including dementia, the impact on carers, and journeys of grief and bereavementStrong personal and active Christian faith and church involvementTheological /Pastoral Care qualifications and experienceDemonstrated capacity to pastorally care for and enhance the wellbeing of those in needHighly developed communication skills including listening, compassion and empathyExperience raising up, leading and supporting a teamStrong administrative and computer skillsAccess to a car, Australian's driver licence and comprehensive car insuranceWhat We OfferNFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefit (up to $2,650 tax free)Flexible working options, including hybrid arrangementsCareer and professional development opportunitiesAdditional leave purchase options and 14 weeks paid parental leave (prorated)Health and wellbeing programs, including Fitness Passport and free flu vaccinesAccess to free, independent Employee Assistance Programs for employees and familiesNovated vehicle lease and discounts at selected retailersTo ApplyIf you are ready to make a difference with HammondCare, Apply Now!
