About this role: As a Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Mentor, you will work closely with year-level teachers and coordinators to plan and facilitate meaningful programs and events, such as after-school activities, camps, and excursions.
Your role involves leading discussions, games, and activities aligned with our Pastoral Care and Wellbeing curriculum.
You'll be a role model and mentor, building positive relationships with students while maintaining professional boundaries.
Job tasks and responsibilities: Actively engage with students and support their development in line with our Pastoral Care and Wellbeing programs.
Organise and participate in a variety of events, including camps and holiday programs.
Prepare relevant curriculum-based content and value-adding activities.
Collaborate with the Pastoral Care team, attending regular meetings and providing valuable feedback.
Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your mentoring skills and effectiveness.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities: Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
Certifications in First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis Management, Infection Prevention, Child Protection, and Food Safety.
Strong understanding of child safety requirements, regulations, and their application in school settings.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Pastoral Care and Wellbeing curriculum and its importance in student development.
Excellent communication skills, including public speaking, active listening, and effective written communication.
Strong organisational skills for planning and coordinating events, meetings, and student activities.
Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries while providing student support.
Ability to manage time effectively to balance multiple responsibilities and meet program requirements.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and adaptability to meet evolving program goals.
