JOB DESCRIPTION We are seeking a dedicated Parts Assistant / Yard Hand to join our dynamic team. As a Parts Assistant / Yard Hand, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our automotive transport company. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Workshop & yard organisation: Organizing vehicles within the yard efficiently to optimise space and facilitate easy access for transport.Loading & unloading: Accepting deliveries of stock into the workshop, including assisting with the loading and unloading of stock using safe handling techniques.Maintenance Support: Performing basic maintenance tasks on vehicle parts as needed, such as battery charging, forklift inspections, etcSafety Compliance: Ensuring all safety protocols and regulations are always followed to maintain a safe working environment.Shipping and Receiving: Receiving incoming shipments, inspecting contents for accuracy, and organising parts for storage or distribution.Inventory Management: Utilizing and maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, and replenishing supplies as needed, including the use of stock/inventory management I.T. software (i.e. AMWIN).Organisational Support: Providing general support to the parts department, including cleaning and organising shelves, emptying bins, and maintaining clean work areas.Documentation: Maintaining records of inventory movements using our systems.General housekeeping: Proudly maintaining the presentation of the workshop, including general cleaning of sales offices, drivers' room, washrooms and emptying binsOffsite deliveries: Picking up and dropping off parts to and from various suppliers and customers REQUIREMENTS Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required; training will be provided.Previous experience with AMWIN stock management program preferred but not required; training will be provided.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Physical capability to lift and move heavy objectsBasic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.A team player with a positive and polite attitudeBe mature, punctual and have a strong work ethicReliable, conscientious, adaptable and customer focusedCurrent Forklift Ticket & experience operating a forklift is essential Current manual drivers' license is essential WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU?
