PARTNER is working in collaboration with Airport Development Group (ADG) to secure an influential, collaborative, and professional Head of Safety to join them in a newly created role. Reporting to the Executive General Manager – People, Culture & Community, the role will take overall responsibility to shape, develop and implement safety policies and systems to minimize workplace hazards, protect employees from harm and foster a culture of safety within the organisation.
Airport Development Group owns and manages diverse infrastructure assets across the Northern Territory, including airports, hotels, aviation, and commercial buildings, and has ambitious plans to expand into Western Australia and Queensland. ADG are seeking a high-calibre professional with extensive experience in Safety management within a complex infrastructure management business who can work with various stakeholders to enhance and enforce ADG's safety culture, regulatory compliance and outcomes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the ideal candidate to be the architect of the ADG safety framework and become a part of ADG during an exciting phase of expansion. ADG welcomes applicants willing to relocate to Cairns, while also recognising the necessity for periodic travel to various ADG operational locations across Northern Australia and others.
About you: Possessing tertiary qualifications in a safety and a relevant field Strong analytical and investigation skills, and expertise in risk assessments, safety data analysis, interviewing skills, root cause analysis and report writing Solid understanding of safety regulations and problem-solving abilities to develop effective corrective actions and prevent future incidents Extensive practical experience and expertise in designing, implementing, developing and managing Health and Safety systems and standards in a multidisciplinary environment Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage and develop a team of Health and Safety professionals in complex safety situations Holds a current driver's license, eligible for an Aviation Security Identification Card, and can pass an Australian Federal Police check The role: The Head of Safety will lead by example, shape and promote safety as a core value, encourage employee involvement in safety initiatives, recognize achievements, and continuously improve safety practices Communicate and articulate the organization's safety vision, set and enforce standards, and encourage team involvement in safety initiatives and idea-sharing Engage relevant stakeholders and address safety issues with management, share safety information with employees, contractors, and industry stakeholders, and collaborate across all business units to achieve key objectives Design, govern, and maintain Health and Systems management frameworks, standards, processes, and tools to support and assure ADG's strong safety culture across all existing and new business areas and infrastructure assets Develop and monitor WHS performance against budgets and business plans, reporting cycles, conduct safety and quality audits, and support third-party regulatory audits Identify and manage safety and compliance risks using the ADG Risk Management Framework, promoting a safety-conscious culture by addressing environmental and safety risks Follow Cyber Security Apply ADG Policy and Guidelines to identify and respond to cyber security threats What's in it for you?
