We're seeking a part-time Receptionist to join our growing team in Canberra.

About Us At VDC, we're proud to be a privately owned, specialised veterinary dermatology service established in 2016. We operate across multiple locations along the east coast of Australia, including clinics in Canberra and Sydney, as well as regional visits to Newcastle, Kiama, Albury, Bowral, and Hobart.
Our tight-knit team is dedicated to delivering exceptional veterinary dermatology and general care, always focused on improving our patients' quality of life. We're passionate about continued learning and regularly provide opportunities to further develop your skills.
The Role We're now recruiting a friendly, energetic receptionist to support our Canberra operations. This role is on-site at our clinic two days per week, on Monday and Tuesday.
As the first point of contact for our clients, the Veterinary Receptionist plays a critical role in ensuring every pet and owner feels welcome, supported, and confident in our care. This position requires exceptional communication skills, strong organisational abilities, and a genuine passion for helping animals and their owners.
Key Responsibilities: Warmly greet clients in person, over the phone, and via email.Manage appointment scheduling and handle inquiries with professionalism and care.Maintain accurate records of client and patient information, insurance details, and communications.Coordinate with veterinarians and nurses to ensure smooth patient arrivals, scheduling, and medication orders.Process client payments and assist with insurance claims and third-party payment plans.Triage phone calls with the support of our veterinary team.Assist with reception-level tasks, ensuring everything runs smoothly throughout the day.What We're Looking For: Experience in customer service or administrative roles, ideally within a veterinary or healthcare setting.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and external partners.Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.A compassionate and empathetic demeanour, with a true passion for animals and supporting their owners.Proficiency in computer systems, including Patient Management Software and the Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to stay calm and composed in a busy work environment.A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.Ready to Apply?
