Part Time Receptionist

Part time Receptionist Hours:Monday to Friday 12.00 midday to 4.00pm We are a rural medical centre providing an excellent service to our patients and are looking for a part time receptionist to join our small, very friendly team. We are situated in a pretty Northamptonshire village.
Previous experience of working in general practice, whilst beneficial, is not essential; however, you must have experience of working as a receptionist.

Main Duties of the JobYour duties will include answering the phone and dealing with patient queries, booking appointments for patients, and handing out dispensed medication to patients. You should have a polite and empathetic nature and be willing to assist your colleagues where necessary.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Reception Manager
JOB PURPOSE: Greeting patients and visitors in an efficient and courteous manner, providing an effective and polite telephone enquiry service, and proactively communicating information between relevant patients, doctors, and professionals.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Greet patients and visitors to the practice.Book in patients and visitors in line with practice appointments and visitors procedures.Respond and/or redirect all patient and visitor requests accordingly.Booking, amending, and cancelling patient appointments.Answer incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and redirected accordingly.Ensure up-to-date maintenance of both computerized and manual filing systems (i.e., patient notes).Hand out prescriptions/medications to patients.Deal with patient queries.Assist the admin team with chasing referrals and sending out documentation relating to insurance claims and medicals.Undertake computerized mandatory training.Undertake annual Basic Life Support training.Ensure answering machine service for out of hours information is directed appropriately, switched to answer machine at close of practice and back to surgery each morning.Attend staff meetings, contributing ideas where appropriate.This job description is not exhaustive and may be adjusted periodically after review and consultation. You will also be expected to carry out any reasonable duties which may be requested from time to time.Work safely at all times in accordance with legislative requirements and practice policy and procedures.Person SpecificationQualificationsGood standard of general education.GCSE Mathematics C or above.GCSE English C or above.Experience of working with the general public.Experience of reception work.Excellent communication skills (Written and Oral).Clear, polite telephone manner.Time management and the ability to work to deadlines.Interpersonal skills.Smart, polite, and confident.Planning and organizing.Performing under pressure.Using initiative.Self-motivated.Flexibility.Confidentiality.NVQ II in Customer Care (Desirable).ECDL (Desirable).Experience of working within General Practice (Desirable). #J-18808-Ljbffr
