Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Student Learning Centre & Libraries, the incumbent supports a variety of information service duties including but not limited to: staffing the circulation and reference desks, operating the virtual chat service and supporting other key library operations. The individual is part of the team that performs library desk duties including circulation (borrower services), assists students with questions about college software and troubleshoots equipment problems or requests work orders if needed.
The incumbent will demonstrate strong leadership and relationship building skills, be goal-oriented, be able to deal with conflicting priorities, has a keen eye for detail, and possesses excellent communication skills. The incumbent will also be responsible for staying current on research and assessing trends and technologies related to best practices in the field of library science.
Required Qualifications:

Minimum two (2) year diploma in Library and Information Technician;
Previous experience using the Alma Library Services Platform an asset;
Up to and including two (2) years' experience in practical experience in an academic library setting including circulation and reference work;
Experience working independently within a team-based front-line customer service environment.

Additional Qualifications:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
Successfully able to multi-task and possess a high attention to detail.

Anticipated Schedule: Monday-Thursday 10:00am-2:00pm and Fridays: 7:30-3:30 (flexible up to 24 hours)
