The role has become available as someone in the team has gone on long service leave, so they are looking to cover their role. The role is to start ASAP, and the organisation offers flexible hybrid work options.In this key position, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive team and Senior Leaders, ensuring they are equipped to build and lead high-performing teams. You will provide strategic advice and support across various HR functions, including workforce planning, employee relations, and capability development.Key Responsibilities:Partner with a portfolio of the business to provide strategic HR advice.Coach and support managers with employee related matters.Support the portfolio through change management.Offer tailored advice on people management, workforce planning, and organisational risks to enhance service delivery.Manage complex employee relations issues, including misconduct and performance management, while ensuring compliance with legislation and policies.Provide guidance to leaders on HR activities and strengthen their people management skills.Contribute to the review and enhancement of People and Strategy services to meet organisational needs.Skills and Qualifications:Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field.Proven experience in a HR partnering role.Proven experience in a strategic HR role within a unionised environment.Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.Benefits:This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in local government, working in a supportive team environment that values collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement.
