Tell me about this role:We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable to join our team on a permanent basis. No two days are the same in this role which is essential to the success of the project. We are looking for multi-skilled, flexible, hardworking people who are keen to grow their career within a leading Defence supplier. This role will see you develop process invoices and expenses as well as provide advice to our wider team on financial matters.This role offers uncapped training and development opportunities as well as other benefits including free parking, flexible working and different leave arrangements including paid parental, study, reserve and volunteer leave.This role is part-time, 3 days per week. The 3 days can be flexible; however, they will need to be consecutive (e.g. Mon-Wed). The position will also need to be done on-site in our Canberra CBD office.What will I be doing day to day? Checking and verifying invoicesEntering invoices into the accounts payable systemFiling and maintaining supplier recordsAnswering queries from both subcontractors and employeesVerifying and processing employee expense claims and managing the approval and payment processUpdating and maintaining vendor database promptlySupporting month-end processing and reconciliationIdentifying improvements to the accounts payable processWhat sort of skills do I need?Solid understanding of basic accounting and accounts payable principlesAccurate data entry skillsAbility to build good relationships with vendors and employeesAbility to prioritize and multitaskHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work as part of a broader teamIntermediate computer software skills, including Excel and Accounting packagesAdaptability and ability to acquire new skills efficientlyWhat's in it for me?Flexibility - We like our employees to have the flexibility they need to live the lives they choose.
