We are looking for 2 x Senior Financial Accountants, in External Budget & System administration and Financial Reporting.

Our client is looking to fill 2 x APS 6 Senior Financial Accountants on a Non-Ongoing basis for 12 months.
Our client is located in Acton, Canberra.

APS 6 Senior Finance and Systems Officer This role supports the Assistant Director - Budgets to perform internal and external budgeting functions for the Department including but not limited to Portfolio Budget Statements, executive reporting, management reporting and grant acquittal reporting.

Key Responsibilities Assist with the preparation of internal budget, data analysis and management.
Assist with the preparation of monthly reporting activities including CFO reporting, capital reporting, capital spending and budgeting.
Manage and co-ordinate the grant acquittal reporting process for externally funded projects.
Ensuring financial and procurement activity is accurately recorded and is consistent with contracts, budgets, guidelines and accounting standards.
Assist with system implementation changes and business improvement activities.
Assisting with Technology System Administration including: User access functions.
Staff training.
Chart account Maintenance.
Budget pack preparation.
Produce structured and ad-hoc reports, memos, policies, procedures and analysis on financial performance for internal and external stakeholders.
Provide timely and accurate advice and support to staff, management and clients.
Build and maintain effective relationships with contractors, consultants and internal and external stakeholders, including representing the finance team on internal and external working groups.
Contribute constructively to AIATSIS wide projects including strategic and operational plans.
APS 6 Senior Finance Officer The position sits within a small team delivering financial activities.
The team is committed to providing excellent, client-focused services to our staff and customers.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate strong coordination, liaison and relationship management skills.
They will demonstrate technical capability and sound judgement, including the ability to improve and streamline business processes.
This position reports to the Assistant Director - Financial Reporting.

Key Responsibilities Preparation of monthly internal and external reporting requirements.
Supervision of the day-to-day finance activities including accounts payable, receivable, travel, asset management, capital-spending program, budgeting.
Ensuring financial and procurement activity is accurately recorded and is consistent with contracts, budgets, guidelines, and accounting standards.
Assist with system implementation changes and business improvement activities.
Produce structured and ad-hoc reports, memos, policies, procedures, and analysis on financial performance for internal and external stakeholders.
Preparing taxation returns (including Business Activity Statements, FBT) and providing advice on tax issues.
Assisting in the preparation of the financial statements and reports including content for the Annual Report, Audit Assurance Committee, Council and Portfolio Budget Statements.
Provide timely and accurate advice and support to staff, management, and clients.
Build and maintain effective relationships with contractors, consultants, and internal and external stakeholders, including representing the finance team on internal and external working groups.
Contribute constructively to Institute wide projects including strategic and operational plans.
To be considered for these positions you are required to have: Australian Citizenship Experience within Finance Officer / Accounting / Managing Budgets Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander business with the agency and the outcomes the agency is responsible for delivering Ability to contribute to a team Preference for APS experience in finance.
