The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the organization, supporting its mission to serve diverse communities through broadcasting.
Radio 3ZZZ is the largest ethnic community station in Australia. Located at 92.3 on the FM radio band, 3ZZZ started broadcasting on a regular basis in June 1989. Working from studios in the Melbourne suburb of Brunswick, the station is heard across the Melbourne metropolitan region, as far as Geelong to the west and Macedon to the north. Broadcasting 24 hours a day, it is estimated that more than 400,000 people listen to 3ZZZ every week. To apply please send your resume with a covering letter to the president: Closing Dates:22thNovember 2024 George Salloum [email protected] Key Responsibilities: Financial Record Keeping:Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.Reconcile bank statements and track all financial transactions to ensure accuracy.Budget Management:Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the station's budget.Provide regular financial reports to the Station Manager and Board of Directors, highlighting key financial metrics and variances.Accounts Payable and Receivable:Process invoices, ensure timely payment of bills, and follow up on outstanding receivables.Prepare and send invoices to sponsors, donors, and clients.Payroll Processing:Manage payroll, including calculating and processing employee wages, taxes, and benefits.Ensure compliance with all relevant employment and tax regulations.Financial Reporting:Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.Assist in the preparation of financial reports for grants, donors, and government agencies as required.Compliance and Tax Filing:Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations, including the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements.Prepare and file BAS (Business Activity Statement), PAYG (Pay As You Go), and other tax-related documents.Audit Preparation:Assist in the preparation for annual audits by organizing and providing necessary financial documents and records.Work with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.Financial Analysis:Provide financial analysis to support decision-making, including cash flow management, cost analysis, and financial forecasting.Identify opportunities for cost savings and financial efficiencies.Software and Systems Management:Knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office applications essential.
