Overview
Our Federal Government client is seeking a Parliamentary and Event Officer at the APS 5 level who is a highly organised individual with the ability to multitask and work to multiple deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will need to have proven experience in parliamentary processes including brief writing, coordination, and Senate estimates.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting the Parliamentary section, including: Monitoring and actioning Parliamentary inbox Management of Parliamentary Document Management System Providing administrative support to the CEO, executives and staff Coordination of briefs and ministerial correspondence, for both internal and external purposes—drafting, proof reading and formatting style Event Coordinator—external discovery outcomes and launches including briefing, liaison and logistics Management and coordination of Senate Estimates, Question Time Briefs and Questions on Notice Skills & Experience
Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to liaise with staff and other external stakeholders at all levels Understanding of the Parliamentary processes and legislative requirements (Desirable but not a requirement) This opportunity is within the Australian Public Service.
