The City of Parramatta is experiencing unprecedented growth and transformation with the associated investment providing once-in-a-generation opportunities.  Council has an exciting 3-year term contract position working in the Parks and Open Space Planning team as a Planning Project Officer to help shape the City's future and ensure it is culturally, socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable.  About the role  As the Planning Project Officer you will be responsible for?leading and supporting the delivery of priority projects within the Parks and Open Space team including the development of an Open Space and Recreation Plan.  This role will work collaboratively to proactively problem solve and provide strategic direction for the Parks and Open Space team!  On a daily basis you will:  Provide professional and technical advice for the successful delivery of park and open space projects and infrastructure programs.  Ensure the planning, design, funding, delivery and management of park and open space projects meets agreed community objectives and outcomes.  Prepare Project Briefs, Business Cases, Consultancy Briefs, Reports and/or other project documentation as required. Undertake consultation, liaison, and negotiation with a diversity of internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.  We are looking for someone who has: Criteria: Tertiary qualifications in Parks, Open Space, Recreation Planning, or other related technical disciplines. Extensive experience in delivering projects and developing strategic documents and policies.  Extensive experience working with diverse stakeholders and undertaking consultation activities relating to Parks and Open Space.  Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
