Maximum term, part-time role until 30 June 2025  40 hours per fortnight (flexible working arrangements and the possibility of two positions within one role is available for suitable applicants) Hours are usually completed Monday - Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm. On occasions there will be evening and weekend hours. Based in Carnarvon   The Position: Ngala is seeking for suitable candidates to join as as a Parenting Facilitator Connection WA - Gascoyne. Our preferred applicant will be experienced in working with families and be able to identify areas of need. The successful candidate will be proactive and have the ability to work collaboratively across all departments ensuring the focus is always on quality and best practice. As a Parenting Facilitator, you will: Develop strong relationships with parents and key stakeholders to ensure the service is led by local parenting needs Deliver education programs or sessions for parents to develop effective parenting skills and confidence to meet the needs of their children and to develop supportive and nurturing relationships with their children Facilitate opportunities for parents to connect and interact with other parents to develop positive networks that support their parenting journey Assist parents to access other services to meet their family's needs  It's important that you: Qualifications and/or significant experience in a relevant field(s) including but not limited to: Child Health Nursing and/or Midwifery Early Childhood Education Occupational Therapy Psychology – developmental, child Social Work Possession of Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment will be well regarded. Demonstrated knowledge of the social and emotional needs of a family. Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in using, a strength based and holistic approach to work with families with babies and young children. Demonstrated broad knowledge of child development and early brain development. Knowledge of, and preferably experience working with, Aboriginal families and communities and culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) families. Demonstrated experience in-group facilitation, including a sound understanding of adult learning principles. Capacity to apply reflective practice. Proven ability to be a team player in a small team environment. High level of communication skills: Interpersonal and relationship building skills. Group facilitation and effective presentation skills. Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use computer including the use of Word, Excel and databases. Excellent attention to detail and record keeping. Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously within program and collaboratively with other programs in Ngala. Available to work evenings and weekends as required.
