About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a part-time (3-4 days per week) Paralegal to join our Sydney Class Actions Team on a 6-month fixed term contract.
This role will involve working with a team of senior Lawyers on a high-profile class actions.
This will be a busy and exciting opportunity for a high performing individual seeking to join Australia's leading class actions practice.
The successful candidate will possess excellent legal research and writing skills, strong attention to detail, effective communications skills and a commitment to social justice.
Our Class Actions practice area is the largest in Australia and we are leaders in the field.
We have recovered more than $3 billion for groups, individuals, shareholders and businesses that have suffered loss due to illegal behaviour by large corporations.
Key Responsibilities

Undertake legal research
Assist in managing communications with clients
Preparing briefs for counsel
Assist lawyers with the conduct of matters
Participate in Class Actions events/activities where appropriate

The experience we are looking for

Prior experience as a Paralegal is desirable but not essential
A strong academic background and/or experience in conducting complex legal research and writing
Excellent organisational skills, with meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively
Experience in using Microsoft Excel, updating databases, and/or manipulating data is advantageous
An understanding of our client base and the capacity to demonstrate empathy and compassion
Capability to prioritise tasks, adapt to a rapidly evolving environment, and demonstrate outstanding organisational skills
A genuine passion for law and an eagerness to contribute within a collaborative work setting

The MB Team are on end-of-year break from 23 December 2024, which may cause a delay in your application being progressed.
