We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Paralegal to join our Disputes & Insolvency team. You will have the opportunity to work with some of our largest clients on a range of interesting and complex files. This role will be based at our Brisbane Head Office on a permanent basis. For the right candidate, we remain open minded about full-time or part-time working arrangements.The roleThe day-to-day role will involve:Assisting solicitors in the team with a range of tasks related to debt recovery matters including management of winding up applications, creditor petitions, and issue of bankruptcy notices;Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, and affidavits;Managing and organising case files, ensuring that all documents and information are up-to-date and accessible;Communicating with clients and external parties, such as courts, solicitors, and debtors;General file management including filing, bring ups, opening and archiving files as well as end of month billing;Contributing to and assisting with other tasks as required.Who are you?We are ideally looking for:Previous experience in a litigation paralegal role with a desire to gain experience in debt recovery;A high level of attention to detail and a high personal work standard;Strong organisation skills, together with the capacity to manage conflicting priorities simultaneously;Excellent written and verbal communication skills;Familiarity with iManage and Practice Evolve would be considered advantageous.Your new teamAs one of the largest teams in the Firm, the Disputes and Insolvency team are diverse and energetic, working together to navigate complex legal issues.
