About the opportunity? Reporting to the Head of Legal ('People & Culture – P&C' , 'Network Operations', 'Community, Sustainability, & Stakeholder Engagement - CS&SE' ), you will be an experienced Paralegal responsible for providing timely and effective paralegal support for the Group Legal team, through the following key functions:- Providing Paralegal services, including carrying out general research tasks and preparing updates, case summaries, and briefs as required research and monitoring regulatory developments Responding to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests Responding to other types of information requests, such as subpoenas, and discovery orders Overseeing third-party personal injury and workers' compensation recovery claims which are briefed to external law firms Assisting Group Legal team members with tasks related to litigation, such as preparing chronologies, compiling briefs for external counsel, responding to discovery requests, drafting correspondence, and filing court documents About you? Minimum of 2 years' prior experience as a paralegal, legal secretary or in a similar administration role in a professional services environment Knowledge of key areas of common law, legislation and regulation that apply to information requests, particularly Freedom of Information experiences Experience managing other types of information requests such as subpoenas Experience navigating law databases, and reading and analysing legislation and case law Excellent research, writing and organisational skills Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with a range of internal stakeholders, members of the public and other external parties Strong planning and organisational skills, attention to detail and high-level of accuracy How we'll deliver for you Be part of a culture where everybody feels they belong, are valued, and can bring their authentic self to work every day We deliver on our values of Trust, Inclusivity, Empowerment and Safety every day.
