Discover the Opportunity Located at our Head Office in Burnley, this role is responsible for overseeing the Group Taxation function. This involves establishing and maintaining tax policies and procedures while managing both direct and indirect tax obligations. A key focus of the position is ensuring compliance with PAPL Group's corporate tax statutory and reporting requirements.
You will contribute to the success of Opal by:
Oversight of Group Tax function. Manage ANZ Direct and Indirect taxation responsibilities for the company, including Capital Gains Tax, Research & Development Claims, income tax, GST, FBT, BAS, Stamp Duty and Payroll Tax. Ensure all required taxation returns and reports are prepared in compliance with various taxation regulations. Where applicable oversee the preparation of these reports to ensure accuracy. Oversight of Group Taxation policies and procedures to ensure they remain current. Providing tax effect accounting reporting to support internal and external reporting requirements. This includes management of tax assets and tax liabilities. Support internal and external audit functions. Specifically for this role, we expect you will have:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Business/Commerce. CA or CPA qualified. Proven experience in a tax advisory/compliance role (manufacturing industry experience an advantage). Ability to perform in-depth tax research and legislative analysis. Experience in planning and organisation of workflow to meet critical deadlines. SAP system experience an advantage.
