About the Role: As a Palliative Care Consultant, you will:
Provide expert leadership, guidance, and strategy for palliative care across all BaptistCare residential homes.Ensure our palliative care framework reflects best practices and is in full compliance with legislative standards.Support Residential Managers and staff with ongoing education, policy development, and clinical auditing.Engage in quality improvement initiatives, including after-death audits and monitoring of palliative care approaches.Facilitate connections to specialist palliative care services, ensuring our homes have access to the resources they need.


Key Responsibilities: Provide expert palliative care guidance and support to the Senior Leadership Team and Residential Homes.Oversee the development and compliance of palliative care policies and systems.Lead clinical education initiatives for staff and provide resources to residents and families.Perform clinical audits and support homes during Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission visits.Actively participate in palliative care research and grants to enhance service delivery.


About You: Tertiary qualifications in nursing, with postgraduate studies in Palliative Care.At least 5 years of experience in aged care, including operational roles in residential aged care facilities.Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills, with a focus on building palliative care expertise.Sound understanding of aged care regulations and compliance standards.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Willingness to travel across NSW and ACT to support BaptistCare homes.
