As the Pallet Coordinator within Supply Chain Branch, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and maintaining equipment control of all pallets used throughout Supply Chain Branch. This includes pallets owned by Queensland Health and pallets hired through industry equipment pooling providers (e.g. Chep and Loscam). Your responsibilities extend to the five (5) distribution centre and regional warehouse sites operated by Supply Chain Branch together with ad hoc support to hospital docks as required.
You will take accountability for pallet movements, stock levels, ordering, de-hires, customer service and cost management of pallets and includes:Ensuring accurate and timely data entry and review of transactionsManaging relationships with equipment pooling providers and third-party logistics carriersPreparing monthly reconciliation reports and collaborating with internal stakeholders within our Warehousing and Logistics network to optimise pallet control accuracy to reduce costs and eliminate losses.Taking responsibility and accountability for pallets in the SCB network, collaborating with stakeholders across the state as required.Reporting/work relationshipsThe position reports to the Business Improvement Manager, Warehousing & Logistics. There are no direct reports for this role.
Mandatory qualifications, registrations, and other requirementsPrior experience within a warehouse / logistics environment would be highly desirable.Ability to work across South-East Queensland sites.Role fitThe essential requirements for this role are:
Previous experience in transport / logistics industry as a pallet controller / administrator role would be highly regarded.Good understanding of warehouse operations, warehouse systems and pallet tracking tools.Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal team members, equipment pooling providers, third-party logistics carriers and hospital customers.Proven ability to work in a team environment developing effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders.High level communication skills and the ability to participate in constructive negotiations to achieve the best outcomes.Behavioural Competencies RequiredWe are all leaders in the Department of Health, regardless of role or classification level.
