Duties and Responsibilities: Material Estimation: Measure surfaces or analyze job specifications and drawings to estimate the required quantity of materials for each project.
Setup and Protection: Set up and secure scaffolding, cradles, and ladders.
Utilize drop sheets to protect surrounding areas from paint drips and spills.
Carefully remove and store fixtures such as pictures, door knobs, or electrical switch covers to prevent damage during the painting process.
Surface Preparation: Sand, scrape, or use chemical paint removers to remove old paint or finishes.
Repair and prepare surfaces by fixing woodwork, filling or sealing holes, cracks, and joints.
Thoroughly clean surfaces to remove dust, dirt, and grease.
Primer and Paint Application: Apply primers or sealers to ensure proper paint adhesion and durability.
Select and mix paints to achieve desired colors by adding tints or combining different shades.
Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using a variety of techniques including brushing, rolling, or spraying to achieve a professional and even finish.
Specialized Techniques: Utilize specialized equipment such as spray guns or airless sprayers.
Create unique and decorative paint finishes such as stencils, color glazes, graining, marbling, and lettering to enhance the aesthetic appeal of painted surfaces.
Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Regularly clean and properly store equipment.
Dispose of waste materials properly and ensure the site is free of debris and hazards.
Collaboration: Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and clients.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, techniques, and safety protocols.
Continuously improve skills and maintain a safe working environment.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure all tools and equipment are cleaned after use.
Maintain a tidy workspace by promptly removing all debris and waste materials.

Requirements: Certificate III including at least two (2) years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV in Painting and Decorating At least two (2) years of relevant Painting experience Valid Victrorian driver's licence.
