Full-time Painter position available in Manly, NSW 2095 Abseilers United is an expert industrial Rope Access company specialized by a fully qualified, experienced, highly skilled and licensed team.
Since 2007, Abseilers United have handled complex projects on commercial buildings, government structures, construction sites, residential properties, hotels and skyscrapers, catering to clients in the central business districts and suburbs of Sydney.
On behalf of the company, we are seeking or a skilled Painter to join the team on a full-time basis.
Position Responsibilities and Tasks: Read blueprints/instructions and examine surface to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.
Prepare, prime, sand, seal, patch and paint surfaces, buildings, and fixtures using various painting materials such as varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, waterproofing, and heat-resistant finishes.
Remove old paint and wallpaper, repair woodwork, fill holes and cracks and smooth and seal surfaces.
Tape, flush, repair and apply texture, wallpaper, and acoustic layers on a variety of surfaces.
Select and adjust colours when necessary, utilizing advanced finishing techniques where appropriate.
Apply materials to new constructions, existing multi-story buildings, and doing alterations or remodelling, including the use of rope and high-rise access methods.
Handle graffiti removal using various products and soda blasting techniques.
Operate, clean, and maintain all painting equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, electrostatic sprayers, pumps, etc., ensuring the safe storage and labelling of all materials.
Hang wallpaper, match patterns, and trim edges as required.
Erect scaffolding, rigging, and ladders in accordance with safety codes, and using drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splatter.
When required, repair windows, replace glass in wooden and metal frames, and repair wall and floor tiles.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects according to specifications.
Work on residential and commercial projects, primarily in hard-to-reach areas using abseiling methods.
Understand and comply with industry safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills: Certificate III in painting or alternatively three years of work experience as a substitute.
Able to work efficiently with and without supervision.
Great attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work in abseiling.
Proven track record of at least 2 years in painting, with rope access skills highly preferred.
Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $70,000 - $80,000 p.a.
plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
