Job Description
NeuroJunior (Paediatric) Occupational Therapy Team Leader
You will be working with children, young people and their families in various settings including at our dedicated NeuroJunior clinics, home, school, and in the community. You will also be supporting the community around the child. The role is challenging and rewarding, ideal for those looking to make a difference to these children and young persons.
NeuroJunior Occupational Therapy works as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. You will provide assessment and therapy services to children and young people with developmental and acquired neurological conditions and disabilities such as developmental delay, autism, cerebral palsy, and intellectual disability. You will be able to shape your caseload around the age range of 0-18 years, depending on your interests and experience across the life stages.
We are a Child Safe organisation and adhere to Victorian Child Safe regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Leading and developing our NeuroJunior OT team, of Junior and Senior clinicians.
Collaborate with our allied health NeuroJunior Leadership team evolving OT services development.
Working with our NeuroJunior Education team to expand and deliver our Early Careers and New Grad programs. And collaborating on our internal professional development program based on your team's learning and career goals.
Lead NeuroJunior OT Intake, through participating in our First Steps Clinic, and waitlist management.
Hands-on with the recruitment process. If you have an eye for people and OT skills, building the team is a rewarding experience!
Delivery of NeuroJunior services including OT assessments, interventions, treatment planning, education and reporting.
Support & Pathways
At NeuroJunior, we are committed to your career growth and have leadership workshops and a range of professional development in place to build and further your capacity to lead a successful team. You have access to the OT clinical manager, and team leaders who have experience working in Neurodisability.
Home Clinic
The NeuroJunior Occupational Therapy Team Leader will be based within our Western team (either across Deer Park, Werribee, or Melton catchment) Team. We have NeuroJunior clinics opened in Deer Park and Werribee, and you will also have access to our NeuroRehab clinics. If you're looking for the home clinic to be based more within our Northern team, we have a dedicated NeuroJunior clinic at Thomastown, with access to our NeuroRehab spaces in Tullamarine, Thomastown, and Bulleen.

Internal workshops booked in 2024 on Wheelchair Prescription hosted by Permobile, Sensory and Emotional Regulation, and DIR Floortime.
Regular in-service workshops led by our senior multidisciplinary team members.
Regular social events with your NeuroJunior team, and NeuroRehab-wide organisation.
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent and current membership with AHPRA.
5+ years experience as an Occupational Therapist. With experience working with children and young people.
Demonstrated commitment to family-centred approaches and best practices within the NDIS.
Driver's license.
Internet access.
Successful candidates are required to undertake a Police Check, Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening check.
Three Covid-19 vaccinations.
Desirable
Experience working with compensable and NDIS clients is highly desired but not essential.
Influenza vaccinations are desirable.
