We are seeking a motivated Occupational Therapist to join our team in Canberra. We travel to our clients' schools, homes, and the community for therapy sessions and assessments, predominantly during school terms. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for supporting neurodiverse children, adolescents, and young adults. You will play a key role in assessing, planning, and implementing therapy goals that address the unique needs of each client and their family.
Our practice is family-centered and client-focused. Strength-based and evidence-based practice underpins our services. We tailor our support to each individual client, their goals, and their family.
We use a key worker model with Occupational Therapists, Therapy Support Workers, Social Workers, and Autism Disability Specialists, often collaborating to support individual clients.
We work closely with our clients, their families, teachers, and other key stakeholders to best support our clients with their goals.

We spend every Monday together as a team for multidisciplinary meetings and team meetings. For the remaining four days, you will travel to meet clients for assessments and therapy. The team communicates through WhatsApp and phone calls to support each other. You will have a phone call with a senior team member at the end of each week as our weekly check-in.
Your level of autonomy will depend on your experience and skill level. When meeting new clients, a team member will attend your initial visit to support this transition.
Skill Requirements:
Effective time management. Ability to communicate well both verbally and in written form. An understanding of and willingness to contribute to a positive workplace culture. Ability to provide clinical reasoning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to ongoing professional development. We are happy to train you further in the following:
Working with families. Working with children with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, developmental delay/intellectual disability, and challenges with motor skills. Understanding the NDIS framework and requirements. Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy. Be eligible for AHPRA registration upon graduating. Hold a valid Working with Children Check, or be willing to obtain it. Hold a current Police Check or be willing to obtain it. Hold a First Aid and CPR certification, or be willing to obtain one. Hold a full, valid driver's license with access to your own vehicle. Recommended but not required:
Current membership with Occupational Therapy Australia.
