The Role: The Paediatric Infectious Diseases Mentor will play a vital role in training and supporting healthcare professionals at key hospitals across Timor-Leste, including Hospital Nacional Guido Valadares (HNGV) and regional referral hospitals in Baucau, Suai, Maubisse, Oecusse, and Maliana. You will provide mentoring focused on recognising, diagnosing, and managing paediatric infectious diseases, with particular attention to antimicrobial resistance (AMR), antimicrobial use (AMU), and the introduction of blood culture services.

You will also have:
Specialist qualifications in paediatric infectious diseases or postgraduate training in infectious diseases.Extensive experience in clinical mentoring and education.In-depth knowledge of antimicrobial resistance and use in resource-limited settings.Understanding of diagnostic microbiology's role in infectious disease management.Proven experience developing and implementing antibiotic guidelines and policies.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures.Strong problem-solving skills and capacity to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams.Please see a full list of primary responsibilities and selection criteria in the position description.
