About The Role: The RCH Cardiology Department, in conjunction with the Department of Cardiac Surgery, is the foremost centre for Paediatric Cardiology in Australasia and SE Asia. It enjoys a worldwide reputation for expertise and patient care and is committed to being a centre of excellence.
Candidates are invited to apply for the position of Paediatric Cardiology Consultant. This post will be a joint role as a Pediatric Electrophysiologist at Monash Health (0.6 EFT) and The Royal Children's Hospital (0.4 EFT).
You Will Be Responsible For: Delivering appropriate clinical care of outpatients and inpatients, predominantly within the electrophysiology specialty, including cardiac inherited diseases. It may however include general paediatric cardiology patients.Providing comprehensive management of proven and potential sudden death arrhythmic syndromes, including Long QT and catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia.Providing comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic management of syncope and pre-syncope. Risk Stratification for Sudden Cardiac Death in Paediatric Cardiomyopathy.Providing comprehensive management of cardiac implanted electronic devices including resynchronization pacing devices. Diagnostic and therapeutic management of acute arrhythmias after cardiac surgery. Diagnostic and medical therapeutic management of in-patient and out-patient arrhythmias.Supervise and teach junior medical staff, nursing and technologists within the Department of Cardiology as agreed with the Director of Cardiology.Your Skills and Experience: Specialist Medical Registration with AHPRA.Higher Specialist qualification (FRACP or equivalent) is essential to application for this position.Demonstrated ability to work with and lead a multidisciplinary team.High level clinical medical skills relevant to the field.If this sounds like you, click here to view the position description.
