Packaging Specialist - MoRDC Fantastic opportunity to join our fully automated DC Located in Moorebank  Permanent Opportunity Welcome to Moorebank Located in Moorebank NSW, MoRDC is the latest distribution centre being added to the Primary Connect Network.
The 44,900 sqm facility - equivalent to almost three times the size of the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
This will strengthen Primary Connect's national supply chain and service more than 1,000 Woolworths Supermarkets across Australia with more than 12,000 product lines.
The Opportunity    The purpose of this role is to effectively investigate, recommend and close out opportunities to improve the overall performance of the automation and operations.
This includes developing and implementing quality assurance processes to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues before they impact operations.
This involves creating checklists, conducting regular audits, and analysing performance data to ensure adherence to established standards.
The role will delve deep into the root causes of any packaging or vendor-related issues, using data analysis and problem-solving techniques, and recommend and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Collaboration with internal teams (operations, engineering, procurement) and external vendors is essential to address quality concerns, ensuring alignment and swift resolution.
This includes clear communication of findings and recommendations.
This role will actively contribute to the continuous improvement of our automated distribution center's processes by identifying areas for optimisation and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall workflow.
Their expertise will contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to provide high-quality and sustainable solutions Additional responsibilities of the role will include, however not be limited to: Lead quality audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Implement quality control tools and ensure compliance with standards.
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure product quality and resolve defects.
Analyse and optimise workflows and systems to eliminate inefficiencies.
Utilise data analysis to drive data-driven process improvements.
Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies within the automated environment Lead projects to enhance layout design, packing, and systems.
Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Communicate proactively to address concerns and ensure alignment.
Monitor customer perceptions to ensure satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulations.
Document essential processes for clarity and consistency.
Deliver training on quality programs and objectives.
Foster a customer-centric and inclusive team culture.
Mentor and coach colleagues to achieve high performance.
Champion safety protocols and mitigate potential hazards.
Enforce compliance with legal obligations and company policies.
Ensure operational safety and adherence to specifications.
This role is key during the transition phase and will be heavily involved in a multitude of transitional activities.
These activities will be varied and may include (but not limited too) the following: Collaborating and problem solving with the project team and other leaders Participation in system testing including operations readiness and commissioning activities Development of documentation eg work instructions, SOP's and processes Participation in own onboarding and the onboarding of others Participation in own training and the training of others Travelling to other DC's as part of your training and onboarding Who we're looking for Bachelor's degree preferred Operational experience working in Supply Chain or manufacturing environments Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL) Excellent project management skills, with a track record of leading successful cross-functional projects.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with teams across various departments Creative problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form and maintain strong relationships internally andvexternally and engage with stakeholders Results oriented and highly organised with the ability to deliver in high pressure environments, under minimal guidance while adhering to specified deadlines.
