Reporting to the Package Manager Landside & SMP, the Project Engineer SMP is responsible for the development and delivery of various Structural, Mechanical and Piping packages on-time and on-budget.

The Role The Package Engineer - SMP will manage and oversee the execution of the tender phase, including the development of tender documentation and scopes of work.
This role involves the adjudication of tenders, recommending preferred bidders, and signing off on the Request for Award (RFA).
You will coordinate the review of fully conformed contracts for technical and commercial compliance and prepare necessary approval documentation.
Additionally, you will manage the contractor's detailed design process, coordinate internal and consultant design reviews, and identify value engineering and cost reduction opportunities.
The successful candidate will also handle the pre-mobilisation and site establishment phases by ensuring all pre-mobilisation requirements are fulfilled and site facilities are adequate.
You will be required to attend site kick-off meetings and monitor construction activities.
You will lead regular contract review meetings, control reporting requirements, oversee QA/QC inspections, and manage contractual claims.
Additionally, you will ensure the completion of PMC punch list items, approve factory acceptance testing (FAT) reports, and ensure all technical documentation is properly handed over to BCI.
About You: The successful candidate will have:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)At least 6 years of experience in Project Engineering and Management Level delivering similar type of packages, preferably within the Mining sector.Experience in execution of SMP projects, particularly processing plants and NPI facilities.Understanding of commercial implications with experience in preparing and managing capital projects including budgets and cash flow management.The successful candidate will be required to provide a national police clearance that not older than 3 months and if site based must hold a WA White Card.
You must have current unrestricted working rights for Australia to be eligible for consideration.
