They offer a wide range of services including civil, structural, environmental, and asset management engineering. Primary Objective The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for the provision of quality civil engineering services to Councils and private enterprise clients, ensuring consistent management and administration of engineering projects. As an integral role in the Company, the Senior Civil Engineer works closely with the design teams to ensure the highest level of service is provided at all times.
Role Responsibilities Reporting directly to the Principal Civil Engineer daily, and producing ongoing reports. Holding Authority for requisition of goods and services per designated limit. Project management and design, delivering completed project requirements within time/scope/budget/quality specifications throughout projects. Oversee creation of project designs and documentation per current, relevant and outlined specifications, advising on technical matters as required. Ensure all designs and documents produced are professionally presented and prepared to maintain high standard. Identify issues and activities likely to influence or impact Company reputation such as inability to meet deadlines, and report to Directors. Prepare contract documentation and other relevant forms required for construction, rehabilitation and maintenance projects. Develop fee proposals and estimates for all proposed works ensuring adequate time allowed for all aspects of plan development and in accordance with current Company charge-out rates. Construction management and administration. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Safety and Quality Management System. Technical knowledge, possess high level knowledge of industry terminology and applications to drafting and design. Maintain knowledge of QUDM, IPWEAQ, AUTROADS, and DMR guidelines and all relevant regulations, legislation and standards associated with construction industry and keeps abreast of changes through research and liaising with colleagues. Required Qualifications/Licences Registration as Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or eligibility for registration. Corporate Membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia. Minimum Bachelor level degree in Engineering or similar. General Safety Induction (White Card). Qld Unrestricted 'C' class driver's licence. What you will Bring Sound operation and application of computerised design and drafting programs for use in preparation of professional designs. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel & Outlook) for preparation of word documents, spreadsheets, and email capabilities. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for purposes of maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated commitment to personal learning and development, including participation in training and actively seeking opportunities for learning. Previous experience in design office for a consulting engineer firm. Passion and commitment for the organisation and its activities. Proactive and dedicated approach to assigned tasks, with demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a team environment. Highly developed interpersonal skills and commitment to building and maintaining business relationships.
