The opportunity
We are seeking an Aircraft Surface Finisher to join our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team, supporting Depot Maintenance for the P-8A Poseidon Program at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Edinburgh, South Australia.
As a BDA Aircraft Surface Finisher, you will be responsible for maintaining and refinishing aircraft protective coatings associated with depot servicing requirements.
This will include undertaking aircraft surface finishing activities in support of Product Support Training & Maintenance (PST&M) - MRO Services Capability.
Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements and be able to meet the requirements of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITARS).
Responsibilities
Be an integral part of the existing MRO paint team delivering products and services to our customers on a first-time quality basis
Be highly competent in all aircraft surface finishing processes including paint application
Be able to work within a small dynamic team and be able to respond effectively to changing requirements.
Experience/Qualifications
Hold a Certificate III or IV in Surface Finishing (or equivalent) - Essential
Hold or be able to obtain a Defence Security Clearance of Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) - Essential
Hold a C class driver's licence - Essential
Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the DASR 145 aircraft maintenance regulatory framework
Be able to demonstrate a contemporary working knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) practices
Previous aircraft depot maintenance experience - Desirable.
Security Clearance
You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a Government security clearance (NV1) sponsored by BDA.
Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e.
birth to present time.
