The opportunity Boeing Defence Australia are seeking a Systems Administrator to join us and support the world class airborne surveillance, communications and maritime patrol system; the P-8A Poseidon.
You will play a vital role in safeguarding a world class maritime, intelligence, surveillance and response aircraft in the P-8A Poseidon.
As a Systems Administrator, you will support IT Systems that are part of the P8-A Poseidon program, including flight and maintenance simulators, mission support and hardware configuration in a data centre environment.
Working in a purpose-built facility at RAAF Base Edinburgh, you will be responsible whilst on shift for managing, maintaining and supporting our IT systems and networks.
You'll ensure reliability, performance and security of the systems whilst supporting our military customer.
Your well-developed communication skills, together with your ability to build exceptional stakeholder and customer relationships, will see you become an effective member of this multi-disciplinary team.
NOTE: This role works on a shiftwork pattern.
As a Systems Administrator at Boeing Defence Australia, your Key Responsibilities will be: * Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components.
* Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
* Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data and protect against cyber threats.
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
* Perform regular backups and disaster recovery operations.
* Work with the customer Identify capabilities, practices and resources to provide effective product support and technical issue resolution.
* Convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Shift work may be required for this role (Early and Late Shift) To be considered for this role you will have: * Demonstrated experience in a complex systems administration role.
* Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.)
and server management.
* Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols (CISCO,TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
* Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware) * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience with Netapp advantageous * Understanding of cyber security frameworks.

Must hold a minimum NV1 clearance with the ability to obtain an NV2 clearance.
