About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide an efficient booking service for all patients and ensure effective utilization of booking time available for Consultants and Clinicians. This position provides a high level of customer service, demonstrating understanding, empathy, patience, and a positive attitude. The role is responsible and accountable for assisting with the management of waiting lists in accordance with Queensland Health Policy.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with Metro North Health's values:
Proficiently complete functions associated with bookings for procedures/appointments, managing cancellations, confirmations, rescheduling, and removals from the waiting list/clinics using the relevant information systems, ensuring alignment with Implementation Standards and seeking involvement of Clinicians as necessary. Advanced skills in the use of information technology to facilitate the identification of errors and ensure a high level of data accuracy. Systems include QHEPS, Hospital Based Corporate Information System (HBCIS), Enterprise Scheduling Management (ESM), The Viewer, Smart Referrals Workflow System (SRWS), Q-Flow, and Management Information System (MIS). Demonstrate the ability to remain calm and show empathy, understanding, and patience as the first point of service, ensuring that patient care is the priority. Attend to department phone calls professionally and courteously, and ensure 'Clinical' questions are referred to the appropriate clinical area/Clinician or Supervisor in a timely manner, maintaining confidentiality in alliance with the Code of Conduct. Demonstrate high work ethics, the ability to work autonomously, exercise judgment, and take pride in the quality of work undertaken. Proactively plan, organize, and manage own time effectively while remaining flexible and open to change. Provide assistance to other staff within a team structure to ensure priority tasks are completed, and department/organizational goals are met. Health Equity
