About The Opportunity
An opportunity to work across multi-specialty outpatient clinics for SWSLHD.
The Outpatient Support Officer will support with the implementation of key changes related to the NSW Health Outpatient Services Framework and the NSW Health Guideline – Medicare Billing for Privately Referred Non-Inpatient Services in NSW Public Hospitals in non-admitted (outpatient) settings across South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD).
The Outpatient Support Officer will be responsible for supporting clinicians and Outpatient administrative staff, and other key stakeholders, to embed these changes in outpatient settings across SWSLHD

What you'll be doing
The Outpatient Support Officer will support with the implementation of key changes related to the NSW Health Guidelines "Medicare Billing for Privately Referred Non-Inpatient Services in NSW Public Hospitals", in non-admitted (outpatient) settings across South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD). The Outpatient Support Officer will be responsible for supporting clinicians and Outpatient administrative staff, and other key stakeholders, to embed these changes in outpatient settings across SWSLHD.
The Outpatient Support Officer also delivers education to SWSLHD clinicians and Outpatient administrative staff, and monitors and evaluates local business processes, systems, and service delivery to ensure sustainability. Furthermore, the position will support maximisation of Revenue and management of errors and rejections in PBRC.

Demonstrated advanced skills and experience in change management, clinical information systems (e.g. eMR, Mosaiq) and hospital based funding mechanisms (e.g. revenue, expenditure) Demonstrated extensive knowledge of health insurance legislation, guidelines related to outpatient services, and the importance of Medicare billing in Outpatients for clinicians, healthcare organisations and health system sustainability Relevant qualifications, or equivalent experience, in administration support, customer service and, training staff in a fast-paced, complex environment Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare and facilitate education and training, engage with clinicians, and effectively communicate to a wide range of healthcare professionals Demonstrated advanced skills in planning, time management and organisation Demonstrated problem solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills Proven ability to show initiative, set priorities and work within a team and independently under minimal supervision to meet deadlines Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences).
