The Opportunity You will manage the operations of UniSC-controlled food outlets, ensuring a comprehensive range of catering and food services for students, staff, clients, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include menu planning, staff management, and maintaining food quality and safety in accordance with HACCP principles. Additionally, you will supervise staff, monitor and collaborate with the Head Chef regarding all outlets staff training procedures, manage budgets, and oversee overall safety and quality control. You will also be responsible for developing and costing menus, ordering supplies, and upholding departmental procedures.
You will achieve optimal efficiency across multiple catering outlets by implementing best practices in operations, maintaining high standards in food safety, and fostering a well-coordinated, high-performing team; develop and execute innovative strategies to increase sales and profitability across catering outlets, focusing on customer engagement, strategic pricing, and relevant menu offerings that align with market trends; lead the successful delivery of UniSC outlet projects across campuses, ensuring full compliance with industry standards and regulations while continuously adapting to emerging trends to enhance operational outcomes. About you You possess strong creative problem-solving skills and experience implementing solutions in dynamic and evolving business environments. Your success hinges on your ability to prioritise tasks, manage workloads independently, and effectively lead multiple outlet teams simultaneously. You demonstrate high standards of interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, working collaboratively with stakeholders. Your capability to work autonomously and meet both operational and project deadlines with minimal supervision is a testament to your effectiveness.
You will possess: completion of a degree in a hospitality-related field with relevant subsequent experience, or an equivalent combination of leadership experience and/or education/training, preferably within a medium to large hospitality operation; a good understanding of University operations, or the ability to learn quickly, coupled with a genuine desire to drive all related foodservice projects for the University and its community; broad knowledge of relevant statutory and legislative requirements, including Workplace Health and Safety, Liquor Licensing, and Food Safety.
