We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Outdoor Events Coordinator to join the Venue Management team and work closely with the City's internal Major Events and Festivals team.
The Outdoor Events & Filming Team is responsible for the facilitation, approval and coordination of a range of events and activities taking place on the City's land; including filming, markets, busking, outdoor events, community and professional sport, other temporary uses in the public domain from minor scale to major international events and Government liaison roles for a range of programs, projects and policies.
The primary purpose of the position is to work within a small team to plan, implement and facilitate the City's 'Sydney Streets' events, a series of road closures in high street locations throughout the City of Sydney local government area.
The events aim to engage local businesses, artists and community members, with events proposed to take place in 2023 onwards.
The role is focussed around the provision of information and guidance related to the facilitation, gathering of relevant documentation, ancillary permits, stakeholder consultation and the granting of approvals and licenses in line with delegations and associated legislation on City land.
This includes the provision of professional event production advice based on professional experience and knowledge as well as assistance navigating the approval requirements that can include multiple other departments and divisions internally, as well as external organisations also.
To be successful you will have: Practical experience in the management and approval of events and filming activities in the public domain is a must.
An adept understanding of event production in NSW.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to: Build consensus among varied stakeholders.
Take initiative to resolve issues.
Identify and mitigate risks.
An understanding of booking management systems.
Experience using the Ungerboeck booking system is highly regarded.
