Your RoleWe are now looking for a full-time Out Of Home Care Manager based in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Manager as Principal Officer will be responsible for the supervision arrangements for delivering statutory Out of Home Care (OOHC) whilst meeting all the legal requirements under the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 and the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Regulation 2012. More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leading the OOHC team to deliver culturally appropriate, high-quality care programsEnsuring compliance with statutory and accreditation requirements for OOHC servicesManaging funding contracts and agreements to meet program requirementsSupervising and empowering staff to deliver exceptional service outcomesEvaluating and improving service delivery, client plans, and program outcomesAddressing incidents and complaints in a timely manner while maintaining complianceDeveloping and implementing policies and continuous improvement initiativesPreparing and monitoring the operational budget in collaboration with the finance teamBuilding and maintaining relationships with government, community, and stakeholdersCoordinating and facilitating team learning and development opportunitiesEnsuring accurate maintenance of client records and data compliance with legislationRepresenting us positively in the community and at professional forumsThis is an exciting opportunity to join a community-controlled organisation dedicated to improving the lives and well-being of Aboriginal people and families.
About YouIt is essential that the successful candidate can provide confirmation of Aboriginality. The successful candidate will ideally have tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, Business, Management, or a related field along with 2+ years experience in the Out of Home Care (OOHC) and child protection sector. Additionally, you must hold acurrent NSW Working with Children Check, National Criminal Check (or willingness to apply), and a valid driver's license. The following skills and background will be highly valued:
An understanding of OOHC standards, legislation, and compliance requirementsExperience managing budgets and financial processesDemonstrated ability to work with peak bodies, funding agencies, and community stakeholdersStrategic management and operational leadership experienceA strong understanding of NSW reforms around permanency support programsAs our ideal candidate, you will possess exceptional leadership and decision-making skills, along with a deep understanding of Aboriginal cultural values and the ability to foster meaningful relationships.
