About the role: This position is situated within the West Perth office with travel to other locations as needed to support case managers.
The Out of Home Care (OOHC) Coordinator is part of MacKillop's WA OOHC team which provides General Foster Care.
The OOHC Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day practice, administrative requirements and supervision of the WA case management team.
The role is also responsible for the management of placement referrals and will make decisions regarding the acceptance of children into the out of home care programs in consultation with the MacKillop leadership team.
This is an ongoing full-time opportunity based in West Perth, WA within our WA Services Program.
The position reports to the State Director WA/NT. Key Selection Criteria: To be successful in this role, you will have:
Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.A tertiary qualification and experience in social work, community services, OOHC management or relevant field.Demonstrated understanding of child protection and an understanding of policy, practice and quality within statutory child protection frameworks.Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability in the supervision of staff.Demonstrated skills and experience in program management, service development and review and experience in foster care programs.Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.Please address the full Key Selection Criteria outlined in the PD as part of your application.
