Field Engineer (Mechanical, Seismic Engineering) The Company:
With offices throughout Australia and globally, this company has redefined the way industrial sheds and light commercial buildings are built and reinforced taking into consideration seismic challenges - with cable, hanging and fastener solutions being deployed on thousands of projects around the world. They are in growth mode and need to add Engineers to Brisbane and Sydney to continue to be able to deliver their in-demand services.
The Role:
This role is varied and interesting! You will be heavily involved in design and compliance, during construction and in the field - it's like being a Senior Engineer far earlier in your career with excellent support and training from the best in the business.
Responsibilities include: Establishment and documentation of Engineering Briefs for new projects Scheduling design with outsourced engineers Performing in-house engineering design Project management and tracking Development of material take-offs from layout designs for quotation purposes Meeting with project contractors to discuss requirements for installations Checking and certifying installations in projects for compliance in seismic design Research and development in new and existing products, aiming towards optimized engineering design Development and maintenance of an up-to-date drawing library of in-house products and information Use of FEA and advanced engineering software to investigate and determine resistance of specially-designed frames against seismic loading The Person:
You will have experience as a Structural, Seismic or Mechanical Engineer with at least 2-3 years experience. Seismic knowledge is an advantage. Site inspections + Design 50/50. Some traveling around Australia but not much.
