The office, known as of Victoria Chambers have been occupied by lawyers since 1888 when the firm of Crabbe Cohen & Kirby commenced practice. Charles Cohen's son Frank and grandson Eric also practiced law there. Eric Cohen commenced legal practice in 1938 and was joined in partnership by Dennis Johanson in 1984 until Eric retired in 1996. The firm merged with the practice of Michelle O'Sullivan in 2011.
Prior to use of legal premises Victoria Chambers was the office of John Neeson, Mining Manager and Accountant. In 1887 a meeting was held by "a number of influential gentlemen" who considered it "desirable to establish a "Trustees Executor and Agency Company", and as a result the Sandhurst Trustees was born.
