Novotel Wollongong Northbeach is an award winning venue located just steps from the beach. The hotel has undergone a major transformation with multiple outlets and entertainment facilities under the one roof, and is one of the premium locations for accommodation, weddings, events and dining in the Illawarra. The hotel has 209 accommodation rooms, 5 food and beverage outlets and multiple event spaces offering incredible views and amazing experiences. The hotel provides an exceptional product with world class food and beverage offerings.
About The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food and Beverage Manager to oversee all aspects of our dining and beverage operations. As the Food and Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences, managing a team of dedicated professionals, and driving profitability within our food and beverage outlets.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of all food and beverage outlets including restaurant, bars, in room dining, Conference & Events. Foster close collaboration with the Director of Culinary, Head Chef, and the Purchasing and Receiving team, as well as maintain strong partnerships with other hotel department leaders. Act as the primary point of contact for F&B operations, reporting to the Hotel Manager and delivering performance insights and commentary to key stakeholders, including licensees, the executive team, CEO, CFO, and property owners. Ensure precise management staff rostering, and wage control to optimize operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve revenue goals and maximise profitability. Lead, train, and motivate a diverse team of emerging and senior managers, and support staff to deliver outstanding service. Ensure strict compliance with all liquor licensing regulations, maintaining a safe and responsible service environment in accordance with legal and Hotel standards. Uphold exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and cleanliness across all outlets, ensuring accountability among outlet leaders for delivering excellence. Oversee and manage outlet inventory levels, procurement, and cost control to maximize profitability; actively participate in stocktaking processes and implement corrective actions as required. Contribute to the planning, development, and execution of special events, ensuring innovative concepts and seamless operations. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure seamless operations and mutually beneficial partnerships. Foster a positive working environment by promoting teamwork, communication, and professional development. Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner, collaborating with the Guest Relations team to ensure feedback is effectively managed and resolved. About You:
Proven experience as a Food and Beverage Manager or similar role in a large-scale (fast paced) venue, luxury hotel or resort environment. Preferred experience with the following systems: Simphony, Opera Cloud, EMC, Order Up, Deputy, and Purchase Plus. Able to demonstrate strong financial acumen, with expertise in forecasting, cost control, and managing cost of goods sold and revenue management to drive profitability. Proficient in implementing and maintaining efficient systems and processes. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of current industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
