About the Opportunity As a client focused Orthoptist with Vision Australia, you will be well supported by your team in Robina to provide your specialist knowledge and skills.
In this role you will provide assessment, training, intervention strategies, and service co-ordination, to enable clients who are blind or have low vision to live a life they chose.
In this role you will also: Utilise a person-centred and strengths-based approach, providing services that focus on client's needs and goals and enhancing life on the clients' terms.
Provide functional vision assessments and recommendations that address the priorities of clients of all ages, supporting them to make the most effective use of their vision.
This includes the use of low vision aids, lighting and other specialist equipment.
Provide information to clients and their carers/family about eye conditions, appropriate to their needs.
Prepare clinical and functional vision assessment reports as requested by clients and/or third parties.
View the Position Description for this role About You As part of our transdisciplinary Client Services team, you should hold a qualification in Orthoptics as recognised by the Australian Orthoptics Association.
In addition, Registration with the Australian Orthoptic Boardis encouraged.
You will also have: Knowledge and skills in working with children, adults and older adults.
Experience in providing client support and Orthoptic services in person and/or through other communication mediums.
Training and intervention strategies for individuals and groups.
Be client focused and be a team player to assist in providing holistic care to our clients.
