The Orange Door Intake Coordinator will guide and support their team in providing information, advice, and an initial assessment with a focus on risk assessment for those seeking assistance.
A sound understanding of the Child and Family Services sector is essential.
Ability to problem solve and navigate an environment of change in order to manage high demand in peak periods.
Key Result Areas and ResponsibilitiesSupervision:Lead the recruitment and induction of Orange Door Intake staff.Provide monthly regular ongoing clinical and administrative supervision for all team members.Conduct annual performance appraisals and develop Work and Development Plans with all staff including the identification of agreed professional development.Promote and monitor staff wellbeing.Service Delivery and Coordination:Ensure that Orange Door intake team provide a high-quality service to meet the needs of vulnerable children, young people, and their families.Ensure the service is consistent with an intersectional, family-centered model with a Family Violence lens where required. Ensure service is flexible and innovative and that the best interests of the child are paramount in decision making.Ensure accountability requirements are met and provide data and reports internally, to funding bodies and other relevant organizations as required.Work with staff and the Leadership Team to identify opportunities for shared professional development initiatives to enhance skill development.Ensure regular participation in Orange Door allocation meetings or any other operational-based meeting you might be required in.Maintain relevant databases and reporting systems.Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships and partnerships with all partners and stakeholders of The Orange Door.Convene regular team meetings.Ensure that appropriate protocols and client information systems are maintained as per funding agreement and MacKillop Family Services requirements.Service Development and Review:Develop opportunities and processes which promote capacity building with clients.Develop processes that encourage feedback from clients, staff, and other professionals to assist with service development and quality improvement.Participate in reviews and evaluation to help facilitate the development of best practice within the service.Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.Establish collaborative relationships with strategic stakeholders across the Family Services sector including generalist services and networks.Undertake administrative tasks as necessary.Contribute to the development and growth of Family Services, including identification of service opportunities and assisting staff in change management processes.Team Participation:Foster a positive work environment and the development of a cohesive integrated team within the Brimbank Melton Orange Door.Promote a spirit of cooperation, goodwill, and professionalism.Promote collaborative work practices with all partnership agencies within the Brimbank Melton Orange Door.Actively participate in other service, program, and agency meetings.Actively contribute as part of the leadership group of Community Programs.Participate in appropriate professional development opportunities.Key Selection CriteriaMinimum Social work or relevant tertiary qualifications as per Recommendation 209 of the Royal Commission into Family Violence, however those who have been working in Family Violence for at least 5 years will be exempt from these criteria.At least 5 years' experience in the Child and Family services sector.Demonstrated professional knowledge of issues that vulnerable children, young people, and families face.Extensive experience and demonstrated skills in working with vulnerable children, young people, and families.Experience and Interest in understanding and working in family violence.Sound knowledge of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and policies relating to child welfare and the best interests of the child.Highly developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation, written, verbal and computer skills.Demonstrated ability to run a well organised system, in the face of multiple pressures and competing demands for time and resources and the capacity to achieve service goals and targets within budget and timelines.Demonstrated capacity to develop collaborative relationships across professional and organisational boundaries.Demonstrated team building capacity and experience in providing leadership and supervision for staff.Understanding and commitment to the objectives and values of the organisation and a capacity to represent MacKillop views as required by the role.Actively support and champion the Sanctuary model across all aspects of the Program in line with the seven Sanctuary commitments: Open Communication, Nonviolence, Emotional Intelligence, Social learning, Democracy, Social Responsibility, and Growth and Change.
