You will provide high quality, efficient, and effective dental services to eligible clients (For eligibility criteria please click on link here) within the scope of publicly funded dental services, in accordance with Access Health & Community policies and procedures.About the roleAs an experienced Oral Health Therapist, you will have a high level of experience, knowledge, and skills in undertaking clinical duties, with the ability to independently undertake clinical duties.
You would be part of a multidisciplinary dental team comprising dentists, dental therapists, oral health therapists, dental prosthetists, oral health educators, and dental assistants.
Our aim is to improve access to services and the oral health of the community we serve.
We offer the flexibility of these roles to be full-time or part-time.What you will be doingKey Responsibilities:Provide dental care in accordance with Access Health & Community and Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) policies and clinical guidelines, within the scope of public dental services and the dental board of Victoria.Provide best practice dentistry to all clients.Adopt a multidisciplinary team approach in the delivery of care.Work in a consultative manner with AccessHC dentists, dental/oral health therapists, and prosthetists.Refer complex treatment plans and ensure appropriate referrals to more experienced practitioners or specialists where appropriate.Provide clinical support and direction to less experienced staff.Adhere to AccessHC OH&S, Infection Control, and Record Keeping Standards.What you will bringKey Selection Criteria:Tertiary qualifications in Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy.AHPRA registration as an Oral Health Therapist.Minimum 2-3 years' experience with at least 12 months within Australia.Demonstrated knowledge of preventative and operative dentistry.High level of knowledge and clinical skills in the full range of activities permitted under the oral health therapists' scope of practice.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.Attributes:Knowledge of Titanium/Exact desirable & Microsoft 365 suite.Excellent communication with young people and time management skills.Previous experience in community dental/private practice.Experience in oral health promotion.Flexibility in providing dental services in alternative settings e.g., outreach activities, Smile Squad.Ability to relate to people from diverse social, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.Commitment to continuous quality improvement and health promotion principles.Effective time management and prioritisation skills.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.Demonstrated behaviours consistent with AccessHC values.Access Health and Community Culture and BenefitsAt AccessHC, we offer more than just a fulfilling career; we invest in our people and provide an environment where you can thrive in a culture of collaboration and support.
